Academic ERP Backend with Socratic AI Guidance
Built for an AWS hackathon; deployed on Amazon EC2 with Amazon RDS PostgreSQL (demo currently offline). FastAPI backend for academic ERP covering Admin, Student, and Teacher roles with subject-wise Socratic RAG tutoring powered by AWS Bedrock (Amazon Nova Lite) and isolated FAISS vector indexes.
OPINIONATED ARCHITECTURAL DECISION
Enforced strict Socratic dialogue prompts with mandatory source citations instead of direct question-answering to prevent student rote memorization.
WHAT I GOT WRONG & LESSONS LEARNED
Initially stored vector embeddings directly in application memory which crashed the small EC2 instance until isolated FAISS files were persisted on disk.
